Tissues were collected from both healthy and ovine footrot disease (OFD)-affected hooves, with a view to studying lipidomic differences between the two samples. The aim was to develop a method that can be used to improve understanding of OFD pathogenesis. Liquid extraction surface analysis mass spectrometry was used to directly and rapidly analyse lipids from healthy and OFD-affected ovine tissue sections. High resolution mass spectrometry (Orbitrap) was used to generate high accurate mass data.
