Aims and Objectives

This module aims to provide a means for enabling students to reflect on their personal development and the implications this might have for their future career paths. It will include:
  • Guidance on recording and evaluating skills.
  • Guidance on careers from the Centre for Career Development.
  • Guidance on skills for use in seeking employment.
  • Information, guidance and advice from a range of graduate employers and alumni.

Aims:

  • To raise the profile of employability issues within the undergraduate programme.
  • To provide students with key skills for use in seeking employment.
  • To provide students with the opportunity to reflect formally on their learning and wider experiences while at university.
  • To develop skills of reflection and recording amongst the student body.

On completing this module, the learning outcomes are such that students will be able to:

  • Apply complex ideas to solve problems
  • Reason logically and work analytically
  • Perform with high levels of accuracy.
  • Transferable Skills:
  • Communicate effectively and clearly in written and oral formats
  • Analyse and solve complex problems accurately
  • Undertake independent study of a problem or subject.
